Rand McNally Classroom Database Trial

Rand McNally is offering Nebraska librarians and media specialists trial access to their Rand McNally Classroom through April 15, 2009.

Description: Rand McNally Classroom is designed to support classroom instruction in social studies, geography, and history. The site is teacher- and student-friendly, easy-to-use, and loaded with curriculum relevant maps, games and activities, and teaching materials for K-12 classrooms. Accessible at school or at home, it contains more than 1,800+ reference, special topic, and history maps from the world down to your very own community, which can be printed, viewed, and saved. The reference content has been developed exclusively by Rand McNally editors and cartographers to ensure accuracy, and the site is free from advertisements. The site includes:

  • Dozens of editable lesson plans and assessments by skill level
  • State studies articles and Q&A
  • Current events and "Where in the World?" features
  • Interactive map and globe skill-builders, games, and activities
  • Map compatibility with interactive whiteboards
