| Telephone Pioneers Honor Memory of TBBS Volunteer Lowell Tuxhorn | |
In a small ceremony marked by words of gratitude, hugs of comfort, and tears of sorrow, the Frank H. Wood Chapter of the Independent Telephone Pioneers presented the Talking Book and Braille Service with a donation in memory of their longtime member and our longtime volunteer Lowell Tuxhorn. Mitzie Tuxhorn, Lowell's widow, Chapter President Suzanne Frasier, and Community Service Chairperson Mary Kneff joined TBBS staff to remember Lowell and his years of dedication to talking book service.
Lowell first joined the Talking Book and Braille Service as an outreach volunteer while still working at Lincoln Telephone. Following his retirement, Lowell added to his volunteer commitment and joined fellow Pioneer Fred McCormick in our Lincoln shop repairing talking book players. In recognition of Lowell's dedication to our machine repair program, much of the donation was used to purchase repair equipment.|

When ordering DVS videos, remember that titles are sent from stock available at the time of the request. Please have several selections ready when ordering by phone or by mail. The library does not maintain request lists for DVS titles or reserve titles for specific dates.|

| Spruce Up Your Spring Reading | |
Spring is on the way and while you're waiting to get out into the yard, give a thought to some spring cleaning of your talking book and magazine selections. Your reading tastes may well have changed since you last updated your requests with us. If so, you are probably receiving magazines you no longer enjoy and books that fail to hold your interest. Now is the time to give us a call. Drop an old magazine subscription, add something new. Give us an update of your subject interests, so we can send you books that will have your rapt attention. Tell us to send more books or maybe not so many. A simple phone call can do all that - 800-742-7691.

| Utah Braille Library Seeks Braille Mailers | |
The braille library in Utah is currently experiencing a shortage of braille containers. Please help by checking your closets, your garage, your storage shed, and even under your bed for large black boxes with straps, and returning any that you find. If you need mailing cards to return found boxes, please call the Utah braille library, 800-453-4293. The staff of the library in Utah works hard to ensure that braille shipments are not delayed because of a lack of braille mailing containers. Please give them a hand if you can.
