Find a photo album of steam ferryboats, pre-1923 postcards of the Omaha
area, original paintings by William Henry Jackson, and Chimney Rock

Exhibits
Find a digital exhibit on the Lincoln Highway (including photographs,
and a travel journal) and a digital exhibit on Chimney Rock, including
images and documents combined with a narrative that tells the story of
the Oregon, California, and Mormon trails and the Great Migration West.
Lesson Plans
The artifacts, maps, postcards, original
paintings, and photographs available from the Western Trails Project
provide a rich source of primary documents from Nebraska history. The
following lesson plans have been designed for specific collections but
may be adapted and amended as needed. The Nebraska Social Studies Standards
and Information Literacy Standards are included with each lesson.
