YOUTH GRANTS FOR EXCELLENCE - 2017

SHORT FORM: for projects requesting a grant amount of $250 - $1,000

Instructions for Completing the Online Application Form

  1. If you have questions about what is involved with the youth grants, visit the FAQ.
  2. As a basis for planning a project, choose one of the categories listed under the subheading "What kind of projects will be eligible for the Youth Grants for Excellence?" on the "Youth Grants for Excellence" Introduction to the Grants Program page.
  3. Obtain approval with signatures of the library director and library board chair.
  4. Read the Introduction to the Grants Program page for grant award criteria and other pertinent information.
  5. Develop a plan with goals, activities, timelines, evaluation strategies and budget; use this plan as the basis for the written application you submit.
  6. The online form will not allow you to enter information onto part of the form and return later to complete it. Once you navigate away from the online form page, all data will be lost. You may prefer to use a word processing program to construct your application information, and when ready, copy and paste each section into the appropriate box. After you click the submit button, you will be given an opportunity to print your completed application form. You may send via regular mail any support material you wish to include as part of your application.
  7. Applications must be received by the Nebraska Library Commission submitted electronically by 11:59 PM CT on October 4, 2017. Faxes and U.S. mail will not be accepted. You will be notified by November 15, 2017 if you are awarded a grant. The signature page and print support materials (e.g., catalog page or computer printout displaying item intended for purchase, list of books and/or materials for purchase, estimates from suppliers, letters from project partners, etc.) may be submitted during the week following the due date.
