About Twitter:
Twitter is a new popular "micro-blogging" application in which members post the answer to "What are you doing now?" in 140 characters or less. Those answers can be posted via client software, the Web, IM, or SMS (text messaging). Not everyone is sure yet what the point of Twitter is but it's is getting tons of buzz online right now, especially in the library world. For a more interactive view of what's happening with Twitter check out Twittervision. You are not required to sign up for Twitter to keep track of a Twitter user but if you want to contribute a free account is necessary.
